Dear Munich,

We are finally here with you! Meandering through your streets, eating your ice cream, watching your residents tromp about in leiderhosen and dirdlns, enjoying your lush green parks. Please keep us happy, safe, warm, well-fed, and enchanted until December 16th.

Love,

The Bachmann three

For those of you who didn't know, we are having an adventure in Germany! Jorg is working here for a few months. We arrived last Thursday (Septepmber 24th) to a furnished apartment. Jorg had quite a time finding us a place during Oktoberfest, but he did a great job. I am "enchanted" with this city. We will keep our family and friends updated on our doings through this blog. Maybe it won't feel like we're so far away?

Here are some pictures from our visit to the heart of the city yesterday.
It is super crowded right now because of Oktoberfest, which is held in a different part of the city. We did not attempt to go anywhere near there on a Saturday afternoon, but we're going Monday morning! I hope they serve rootbeer.
Just some teenagers hanging out...literally (hehehe)...but I thought Jorg was kidding when he said people went around in these outfits. There were many older people dressed this way too, but I have to say, it's great to see a place where even the youth keep traditions.

We went to the top of a bell tower at the church:

Frauenkirche

to look over the city.
How does Rebecca like it so far? Well, she is happy as long as she gets to go to the park near our apartment every day. And she has been a good sport when we've gone out exploring. We like it!
