Fun at the Farm, Part II

The weather was so gorgeous on Saturday, we wanted to take our gal out to have some fun. So we ended up at the Thanksgiving Point Farm Country again. It was a hit!
We can't get her to smile when we're doing "posed' photos (see above), because she resents the fact that we just pulled her away from something really cool or fun, just to look at a little box. She is too busy for that nonsense! I always show her the pictures after, thinking maybe she will pick up the concept that the box is actually taking her picture, and maybe she should smile. But, no luck yet. In the meantime, we get to see her cute smile in those candid shots. She made friends with a polygamist boy! He was darling. There was a whole group of them there. Here, she stopped smiling again because the boy's parents were trying to get them to look for a picture.
You can see part of the family in the background.
I talked with the little boy's parents. And I wanted to ask them, "Don't you LIVE on a farm?" But all I managed was, "He's cute. How old is he?"

P.S. Thanks for the Halloween shirt, "Auntie V.I.V."!

Happy 18 Months

I can't believe she's 18 months old! She'll start nursery tomorrow at church. It will be her third time there, but her first time without mom or dad. She'll do great (we think). She's so sweet sitting on those little chairs, singing songs, and eating animal cookies with the other kids.
Rebecca really is girlie. Today at Walmart, we let her walk around a little, and she headed straight for anything that had the Disney Princesses printed on it. And she'd say "Rella", for Cinderella. Obviously, I dress her in pink a lot. I also introduced her to Cinderella. I like that my girl is prissy, like me :) But I'm glad she has the athletic side too (unlike me). Such a cutie.
I've started referring to her as Becca, at times. It's easier for HER to say when she talks about herself. She says it so cute too.
One of Rebecca's little friends (Abbigail) fed herself with a spoon in front of Rebecca. Now Rebecca wants to use the spoon too. As in, she will not let us spoon-feed her anymore. And when she uses the spoon, the food ends up anywhere but her mouth. Therefore, Jorg and I will be modeling spoon strategy for the next few weeks. And she will be eating finger food. She is a determined little gal.
She loves to crawl into bed with us in the mornings. She loves the 'tent' game. And she cuddles with us, giving lots of kisses. What could be better?Happy 18th months, Rebecca! Thanks for being so sweet.

Being Girlie

Rebecca loves playing dolls. She got a new doll set with a stroller and baby bed (it was a present for our neighbors, the Lefler's). She likes to take her dolly for a walk. It's so cute to watch her spend 5+ minutes just situating the "blankie" on the doll so that it's straight and the doll's head still pokes out. Then she lays down next to her and says, "nigh, nigh". She's a sweetheart!

My friend, Corinne, and her cute girls, played "dress up" with Rebecca a couple of weeks ago and took these pictures. Thanks, Corinne! Rebecca loved it.

Eternity

I don't let myself dwell on tragic thoughts. But they sometimes come. I love my family so much that I'm afraid something might happen to them. Well, you never know where or when tragedy will strike. I plan on growing old with Jorg and watching our children's children grow. I just have to say how grateful I am to be sealed for time and all eternity to Jorg and Rebecca. When those tragic thoughts pass through my brain, it is the thought of eternity that puts my fears to rest. I am so thankful for the knowledge I have of this blessing!New camera + new scrapbooking program= a messy house. We like it!

Jumping Jumping by: Jorg

Daddy and Rebecca are spending a fun day at home. WE got Mama birthdays present in a box wrapped with bubble wrap. Rebecca figured out that when you jump on the bubbles it makes a fun sound. So I guess we found a new inexpensive toy.

Welcome Annalie!

Jorg's sister, Kristin (in Hannover, Germany) had a baby girl last Saturday!
Pictured here with Rebecca last October:
We have yet to see pictures of Annalie. But we hear that things are going well and we are so happy to be Tante Emily and Onkel Jorg! Congratulations Kristin and Michael!!

Update: Here she is!
She has gorgeous black hair and long eyelashes. We can't wait to hold her in November!

Exciting!!

Jorg planted a tree!

He brought this birch tree home after work yesterday. He was so excited that he didn't have the patience to change from his work attire before digging and planting. That's why I love him!

Rebecca "drove" a car!
Well, it was her second time but it's still exciting ;)

I painted some walls!
There are many more to paint, but I did 3 so far...

And I made this arrangement on the wall with my small collection of silver frames:

This week we saw:

and:

That rainbow went all the way across the sky! I was so excited and the guy who was fixing our front door at the time, thought I was a nut. I was like, "Did you see this rainbow??" He said, "Well, I wouldn't have noticed it but I heard you yelling about it..." hahaha... I had been around the side of the house making a little movie of it and I called Jorg at work so he could look at it. What can I say? I get excited about this kind of beauty!

Her hair is actually growing!Cousin Heather put her lovely locks in pigtails a few weeks ago and we took these cute pictures. Rebecca lasted a few hours without ripping them out.

Silly, Part VII

I sure love these two sillies!

Rebecca loves noodles. Some days, that's all we can get her to eat! And when she's being grumpy, I ask her to say it and she cheers right up! She says it so cute that if I'm being grumpy, I ask her to say it and I cheer right up! What a gal!
