Where the Green Grass Grows

It's so pretty! There are still some bare spots, but they'll thicken. We love going out to enjoy the grass. Rebecca runs around while mom and dad pick weeds. They come out so fast and easy. It's like...really fun. I thought it would be tedious, but I rather enjoy it! Thanks Jim and Birgit! And thanks to Tanya and Alex for sharing your secrets to a beautiful lawn.
We like it!

Pumkin Patch

We have corn fields and a pumpkin patch down the street from our house. How cool is that?
When we drive by, Rebecca yells "baw! baw!" I love how the world is so exciting through her eyes. After all, pumkins are big orange balls! Not very bouncy, though.

I took the pictures kind of quick because I could hear these guys yelling something at me. I hope I won't get arrested!

You Are Loved

A couple of months ago, I had an experience in the Reams parking lot that made me stop and think. I was driving to the exit, when I noticed a catering van that was parked a few feet ahead of me. The van was slowly backing up. I realized the driver couldn't see me because his only windows were up front. If I didn't do something, he was going to hit me! I honked my horn. The driver immediately stopped and pulled back into his parking spot.

As I ponder this experience, I surmise that the driver was going extra slow because he knew he couldn't see. He was listening for a "honk" that would let him know it wasn't the right time for him to back up. Sometimes we're "parked" in our lives. We know we need to get going, but like the driver of the van, we have a limited view on life. We don't always know what to do, where to go, or when.

In Doctrine and Covenants 112:10, we read, "Be thou humble; and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand, and give thee answers to thy prayers." When we listen, our loving Heavenly Father will give us that spiritual "honk" through the Holy Ghost. He will let us know if we are on the right path. He will answer our prayers. He will send us blessings. He knows what we need to do and where we need to go to be happy in this life. All we have to do, is listen.

I wrote this for our ward newsletter.

"Fa-LaLa"

That's how Rebecca says, Flower.

She demands I pick her a fa-la-la each time we pass the sunflowers! Our cornfields (just down the street) are part of the reason we love it here so much. And the sidewalks there are lined with sunflowers. I took the camera on our walk today. I think she looks so grown up in these pictures! My adorable buddy is getting "bigger, bigger".

Home 2 Us

Jorg has been in Germany on business for the past 2 weeks. We sure missed him. Life was good and we kept busy, but I don't like having him gone. Thank goodness we have family and friends around to hang with! He returned home last night 2 his 2 favorite girls who could not have been more happy 2 welcome him! 2 weeks is 2 long.

He brought home 3 suitcases full of food and candy. Heaven help me! He did this last year (obvious confession...I never did stick 2 that weight watchers online thing).

These pictures don't show even 1/3 of the loot. I've pretty much spent all day putting it away.
I don't mind the food part. We always could use more food storage and we really eat that stuff. But the candy! Well, the solution is that I'm having Jorg put it in a suitcase with a combo on it. My willpower is zilch when it comes 2 chocolate! He likes to have treats from home and he does have the willpower to resist candy. Luuuuucky!

A Guilt-Free Break

I (the momma) went with my 4 siblings and 2 parents to
Lake Powell
!

I anticipated this trip and imagined having a great time (the trip was my idea in the first place), but at the same time, I had anxiety about missing my two hunnies so much that I would be boating, hiking, reading, sunning, seeDo-ing, swimming, with tears in my eyes. I was wrong! I did miss them. But I was just fine. Of course, I had to have my daily Rebecca dose. Each morning, I pulled out the camera to watch little movies of my gal dancing and smiling. It helped to know that she was having fun and being loved in Brigham City.
Man, was it relaxing to lay in the sun, reading...and read pages at a time with no interruptions! Moms need a break every once in a while. A guilt free break, I might add. And that's what I got...fun times with my wonderful family...and a guilt free break.

Da Smiles

This toothy grin makes me laugh every time. I say, "Give mommy the smiles!" And my little girl obliges with her squinty eyes and scrunched nose. Bless her! And bless her sweet little bruised head!
(coffee table accident)

I stole this picture from Emily's post about my brother's b-day. Happy birthday, Jon!
As of late, Rebecca's two obsessions are fish and the moon. Omi bought her some beta fish today. She keeps pointing to them and making those fishy lips - so cute. And the "mooo, moo?" She points to the moon in books and is thrilled when someone will take her outside to look at it.
Hasn't the full moon been gorgeous these past few days?

The "Peachies" at Peach Days!

I (Emily) got to go to Lake Powell with my side of the fam last weekend...SUCH a blast.
While I was away, Rebecca (the "Peachies") got to spend time in Brigham City with Omi and Grandpa Jim. What a lucky girl! Thanks Birgit and Jim!

Jorg met up with them for the annual Peach Days celebration. I love the outfit and wagon Omi made!

They went to the parade and the fair. Rebecca especially liked watching the horsies and riding the carosel.

Of course they missed me, but not toooo much!

Zoobies!

We didn't get tons of pictures because we were too busy looking at the animals. It cracks me up that we got this picture with the panda mural, but neglected to get pictures of the real panda (it was sooo cute).

Rebecca enjoyed pointing and making the animal sounds. She says "rrrrar" for the ones she doesn't know.

On daddy's shoulders - her favorite place to be :)

Beach Baby

It was serious business to fill the bucket with water to dump on her castle. She would manage to haul about an inch of water before she got knocked down by the waves. And then she'd do it all again. She has us laughing. Oh, how we love her!

Jorg put her on his shoulders and took her out where the waves were breaking and she just couldn't get enough.

We like it! Let's go back soon!

"Welle, Welle!"

We just returned from a trip to San Diego! We loved being together so much at the beach and the zoo. Here's Rebecca discovering the beach. She's a little daredevil:

It's fun watching Rebecca's excitement and enjoyment. But what I love just as much, is watching Jorg watch Rebecca. It's just too cute. He taught her how to say "welle" which means, waves.
