Church

Jorg found an English ward, which will be nice for me. It was to feel the spirit in German for a few weeks when we were here on vacation. But I think longer would make me antsy.

Rebecca and I are still jetlagged, so we started off at 10:10 A.M., hoping to get there by 11 for sacrament meeting (their 3rd hour). No such luck. We rushed into the chapel, to at least meet the bishop or missionaries at 12:30. Rebecca, all during our 2 hr and 20 min commute by bus and train, was asking every 5 minutes..."where we going?" and we told her, "church!" and she would say, "yeah! Nursey!" It got to be kind of a game as we rushed around, barely missing this bus or that train. It was kind of fun seeing parts of the city I hadn't seen before. And we were set for snacks, water, and books for Rebecca to read, so it was all good.

When we arrived we were met by some old friends of Jorg (one from Hannover and one from Vespadin) who let us know that we had better hurry and get back on the bus to head home or we would have to wait a while for the next one.

Poor Rebecca. As we were arrived and abruptly left, she was yelling, "I wanna go to 'Nursey'!" It was quite the tantrun. Here we had been traveling for over 2 hours to go to church and she didn't even get to set foot inside the nursery.

Even so, it was important for us to make that trek. We met a nice American sister and her two little boys that live a block away from us. We are going to get our kids together to play. Her boys only speak German, but they understand English. It's vice versa for Rebecca. So hopefully their playing will be good for language skills. She also gave me her email and phone number so it's nice to know i have someone in the neighborhood I can call if I need anything.

It was also an important trek because we learned that it will take us 1 hour and 30 minutes (when we catch all the right buses and trains) to get to church. And the next Sunday (after conference) we will make it in time for 'nursey'!
