We have a Kindergartener!

It's my first time being on the parent end of public education! I know what goes on in our elementary schools and I couldn't be more excited for our little one to experience all that her teacher has in store for her!

She's holding a Schultüte. It's a custom for children in Germany to receive these on the first day of school, filled with candy and school supplies. So fun!

Of course we followed the bus to school!

and trailed her all the way to her classroom.  How cute are these neighborhood friends who walked her all the way to class for the first week?!

Here's here teacher, Mrs. Bergera.  We think she's fabulous!!  This picture was taken a week before school started at her assessment.
Let the adventures begin!  I didn't cry the first day, but the second day after I followed her to school (again), I went to the grocery store.  And then I shed a few tears just wishing she were there with me.  Her schedule is:
wake up 7:45
get dressed
eat breakfast
out the door
bus stop 8:30
school starts 9:00
school's out 11:35, or 11:15 on Wednesdays
She is picked up by me or one of two other moms in our carpool
and she is home around 11:45

while she's gone I usually eat breakfast, exercise, shower, scripture study, sometimes I have visiting teaching or a meeting, I can like make phone calls, or whatever!
When she gets home, we eat lunch together and talk about how the day went (I want to know every detail because I'm really annoying!)
and then do homework and reading until about 1:00
then play the rest of the day!

so far, having her in school is DELIGHTFUL
I   L O V E  filling out her book orders, reading her notes home, doing homework with her, hearing about her day, watching her learn so much, reading with her.  And she loves it too.
BUT, when you ask her if she likes school...she says, NO!  But don't let her fool ya.  Because she loves it!!  She always has exciting things to say about the school she "hates".  That's ou girl!  Our KINDERGARTENER!
We Like It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Duck Pond

Daddy met us for lunch at the duck pond - it's near the Trivani's first office in Springville.  We were in that area in this post.

Brigham City Temple Open House

These pictures are from my phone. I'm so glad we made the drive to Brigham City - even though Jim and Birgit are not there yet. The look on Rebecca's face as we entered the "golden doors" was totally worth it! It was fun to go with my mommy! The experience was sacred and I hope Rebecca always remembers it.

Aunt Steph goes hiking

before
after
She is following her dreams and went on a 50 day hike to become a certified....outdoor-ist!  We pray for her every night and hope she comes home safe!

Bex around the town

Playing with the Manly girl down the street in a Jeep that really drives!
This was the day before school started.  She was so excited, she wanted to take her backpack to Walmart!
Eating her noodles and cheese at IKEA
Smiles at the dentist!  She gets to see my dentist - Dr. Tom - he has been my dentist my whole life and I really like him!  Here she is in the MICKEY themed room and she was watching The Disney Channel on the ceiling T.V.  She had one cavity.  She was super brave and didn't cry!

Soccer Star!!

or....not....

Well..we put her in soccer.  Jorg is the coach - I'm the assistant.  It's pretty low key:  we just play 4 on 4 and there are no positions and we don't keep score.  But she doesn't like playing soccer at all!!!  She liked the one practice we had.  But now we have games twice a week (until the end of Sept).  She won't come in when we call her as a substitution, she lays on the field when she gets out there.  She complains every 30 seconds that she's too tired.  It's like torture for her!  She just wants to play around on the sidelines.  I'm going to try candy bribes for this week's game and see if it goes any better.

Here is Coach Jorg motivating his team!

I coached a few games while Jorg was in Japan.  My mom was able to come help with one of the games!  But man...Rebecca!  I came away in tears of frustration (not all because of her) after the second game...  One thing I'll say is, she loves to READ!  There was a play where everyone (players, coaches, parents) were waiting for her to throw the ball in.  And she was just holding it over her head and slowly twirling it, so she could read what was written on the ball!

No shortage of personality with this girl.  And I'll tell ya, our life with her is never boring!
