My Little 4-year Old

cake for breakfast:

My facebook status for the day was this:  "Daughter promised me last night that she would stay my little 3-year old forever! However, this morning she informed me that when it's your birthday, your number changes, and could she please be my little 4-year old now? I reluctantly agreed.
Happy Birthday to my little 4-year old!"
We had a family party with pizza.salad, and cake.  She got lots of presents including a princess dress for her and one for her doll, from Mimi.  And her first Barbie with tons of clothes, from Omi.
Birgit made the darling unicorn cake.
We like it!
more Birthday fun coming w/ the friend party on Saturday.

Abbigail & Becca, BFF's!

And the cookies I made :)

Danielle's Wedding

We left Rebecca with Omi and Grandpa and had a date to the Logan Temple!  Jorg's good friend Danielle Isom got married.  We're so happy for her!
We had our engagement photos taken across the street from the Logan temple so we stopped for a little "self photo shoot" in the same spot.

The Farewell that wasn't a Farewell :)

Omi and Grandpa leave for the MTC next week!  We went to Brigham City for their "farewell" ;)  It was a big joke during Jim's talk, since the church is not actually calling them "farewell's" anymore.
It was so fun to spend some time with those two, before they leave.  And to see some of Jim's kids and grandkids.  They are so wonderful!  Rebecca had a ball.
We will miss Omi and Grandpa and look forward to seeing them in Texas.

Adventures in...

Just past our yard is a swampy area which serves as an irrigation overflow.  Sometimes the water gets pretty high.  It looks beautiful, but you would not want to swim in it!  The water is really low right now so Rebecca spends half her time exploring down there.
We put her in "mud clothes" when she goes down there because it's impossible not to get dirty.  What fun!

On this day, kids found a worm and made him a house with grass.

Taylor

This is Taylor Braithwaite.  He is Rebecca's new obsession.  As parents, we use "Taylor Time" as a punishment and reward for behavior!  Taylor is our backyard neighbor that just moved here in December from Florida.  The Braithwaites are so great!  We do a babysitting swap with them every Friday night.  I'm so glad they moved here!  Their backyard is not done yet, so they use ours.  It's really a blessing for us.  Rebecca is an only child (for now) but she is not alone.  That really means a lot to me!  They are so cute together.  They play "mom and dad", "grandma and grandpa", "princess and prince", they like to swing and yell at the top of their lungs, "I can't stop!"  She plays with Taylor and his sister, Elle, every chance possible.  They even eat lunch in the yard most days.  Rain or shine!
Here they are watching "Tangled" during a play date.
Rebecca has asked Taylor to marry her, but he is already betrothed to a girl named Lizzy who lives in Florida.  He is very true to her!  One day I could tell something was on Rebecca's mind.  It was morning and we were snuggling.  We hadn't spoken yet that day and I asked her what she was thinking about.  She said these exact words,  "Momma?  I never, ever, ever, ever, ever...want to meet Lizzy."  I think she is a little jealous!

But I told her she has no need of a prince, she has daddy!  And besides, there are many other boys she will meet in her life.  She can just be friends to everyone and she doesn't need to find someone to marry for a long long time!  She listened to me, but I think she still holds onto hope that one day, Taylor will change his mind ;)
