Autumn in Sundance

I'm so glad we made it up to the mountains this fall.  We took a Saturday afternoon to ride the chair lift at Sundance.  Then we hiked around across the top of the mountain, for about 2hours, before we rode back down.  Rebecca is such a good hiker.  I'm always impressed with her.  She is very adventurous.

My handsome eternal boyfriend:

She liked to lead the way and give us instructions about where we should step and when we should "leap"  or take small steps.

She looked for walking sticks the whole time and "traded up" every time she found a better one.

I took over 200 pictures, the scenery was so amazing.
We ate our snack and drank our capri sun drinks at the table.

Stats on her little library

We collected all the books from around the house (her room, our room, play room, family room, living room) so we could count and sort them. And I had planned to get rid of some too. But...books...they become old friends! And are, therefore, hard to part with!! We got rid of 8. Yes, 8...out of 240!

48 Disney books
67 Books to read-aloud
66 Non-Fiction
18 Board Books
10 Phonics Books
14 Other

I'm so happy that she loves books! She can even read some of the words already. I think (hope) she will always love reading.

She Couldn't Be Cuter!

And she could not be more excited to be starting school again!  Wow.  Summer flew by (doesn't it always)  and it was wonderful.  Here is one of my status updates from facebook in mid-July:  heard from the back seat on the way home from Seven Peaks (waterpark) this afternoon: "Momma? What fun are we going to NOW? Are we on the way to a party?" I had to laugh. Can you tell we're having a fun summer?
But here we are and it's time to start school again.  She had her last first day of preschool!  Since she will be in Kindergarten next year!  Taylor and Mason are in Kindergarten and she likes to wait for the bus with them.
Shoes on the wrong feet?!  Too silly!
I'm excited about this year too.  We're doing a neighborhood co-op again.  I like being involved in her preschool and I like that I don't have to be in charge every week!  There are four of us, so we each take one week out of the month.  We have school on Tuesday, Thursday, and then Friday we let the kids play or we'll take field trips.  We have a darling group of kids Rebecca, Brooklyn, Max, and Jamison.  We had a couple of meetings and several emails over the summer planning our year.  These gals are organized!  We already have the whole year mapped out.

She had a fantastic first day of school (at Miss Heather's).  She was excited to sing me some of the songs she learned.  And she said she was proud of herself for being a good listener and that the best thing was that she had
recess!
it's already her favorite subject :)
I asked her what momma should do while she was at school for two hours.  She said, "well, that's up to you!  I'm sure you can think of something!"

Her French Braid

and the little temper tantrums I was forced to laugh through in order to get a picture of it!

nice undies!
and finally she turned around for me!

What I found...

...behind a locked bathroom door!

The little culprit, of course, was long gone.  She was outside playing with her friends.  She'd come in to use the bathroom.  I imagine she emptied her pockets and then locked the door before she shut it, so I wouldn't see the mess and maker her pick it up.  I had to laugh!  Oh, how I love this girl!

Jorgi's Auto Shop

Cute Uncle Joeler needed some belts changed on his car, so he came to the right place:
Jorgi's Auto Shop
for
a garage stuffed with tools,
a mechanical expert, and
a little girl to entertain him!
or...was he the one entertaining her...

I had just mowed the lawn (I do that now!) so there were grass shavings.
