Mancation and Spa Night

A couple of weeks ago, the boys journeyed south with my daddy for some Cougar Basketball and fun in Vegas! The girls stayed home. But that doesn't mean we didn't have any fun!

Steph was there too and made us some amazing breakfast burritos.
I must say, I enjoy being a girl!

Becca Lately...

Went to see a children's play with her good friend Abbigail!
Met the star of the show: the MOUSE in, "If you give a mouse a cookie". She had been wanting to pet his fur during the play and was thrilled to see him standing outside after the show.

Potty Power!

Trivia: How many pairs of underwear do you think she has on?
(I know the answer because I counted them after she used the potty and wanted them ALL pulled back up.

I mentioned before that potty training this princess has not been a walk in the park.
She has seemed interested & ready several times over the past 8 months. And was always excited the rewards & praise for about a week. Then would just start going in her pants again. So we put the diapers back on. Now we are at a phase where some days she goes great all days, and others she just goes in her pants and doesn't care. So most days she wears a combo of pull-ups and underwear. Or when she plain refuses to go, we put her in diapers, to keep the costs down. PLUS she doesn't like that...because diapers are for babies and she wants to be a BIG KID.
We have a DVD called, Potty Power, that she really likes. So one day we came up with this chart.
And it has been working (most of the time) for about a month.
She's not interested in candy, sticker charts, presents, she just wants to be a Big Kid!
The little doll is called, Big Kid Becca. And when Becca goes potty, she gets to move Big Kid Becca to choose an activity. It's all on velcro so we can switch out activities to mix it up a bit.
So far she can chose from: playing on the swings, watching a movie, popping popcorn, playing in her sink, painting, play dough, fruit snacks, and mommy playing with her in her little house. She can do each thing only once a day.

Dear Rebecca,

Sometimes I don't know what to do with you! You are almost 3 now. And you know your mind. And you know that you want to pick the scab off your nose every day! You've had the same scab for 2 months (okay, 1 month...I exaggerated...). Every day we put on oils and bandages, and every day you pick it all off! And there is a crater in the bridge of your nose that is not going to heal any time soon! My mom said I did the same thing when I was little. And I don't have a scar. So hopefully your perfect little body will still heal itself, even without help from you!

We started a system that if you don't pick it first thing in the morning, you get chocolate milk. So that has at least worked for the past few mornings. You cute little 'stinka'!

Go Cougars!

We went to a BYU basketball game with my parents last week. She LOVED it. Sat through the whole game with no problem. Every few minutes she would ask, "Where did the tiger go?" And we would look for Cosmo Cougar on the floor. She loved the cheerleaders and the band. And the basketball? Well, not much. There was too much else going on... But basketball games are all about the entertainment, right? She's like her mom. I always loved going to the games with my daddy. And I rarely watched the actual game.
But the team is really good, don't get me wrong. Especially this year! My dad and all the boys (including Jorg) are going to Vegas this week to see them play in tournament. Jorg has this cool seersucker suit he wants to wear in the casino's. He tried it on for me and it was so funny. I hope he really does it. And that he takes pictures!

Jorg had to stay home with Rebecca who had a cold/cough combo. So, since he wasn't going to be there and therefore wouldn't be too
embarassed
he let me nominate him as the Bachmann's

Her Imagination

Rebecca has a splendidly dramatic imagination.

Yesterday she told me that she was talking with Malificent on her little fake phone. Malificent who has now turned "nice". Who would like a pink watch from Santa Claus, 'cause that's her favorite color.
It was totally random but it cracked me up.

A few weeks ago at church, I had to take her out of nursery to change her diaper. (Yes she is sill in diapers/pull-ups/panties, depending on a combination of her mood and the amount of patience I have that day. Trying to potty train this girl is more than frustrating.)

Anyways, I asked her what songs that were singing and what they were learning in nursery. I could not get her to answer my questions. All she would tell me about were the HUGE dragons that were flying all around the room!
There were purple ones, pink ones, green ones. And they were nice dragons. And they told her stories. And they flew very fast.

I love her imagination because it's never boring to be her mom.
She's usually playing some kind of role. Whether it's Peter Pan, Princess Aurora, Snow White, or Baby Kitty. When she's playing the role of Baby Kitty, she calls me Mama Kitty.

On Saturday I was home sick with a head cold. Jorg went out to do some errands and sent me a picture of a license plate from his phone.

Jumping, jumping

We discovered Jumpin' Jacks about a month ago. It's just 1 mile from our house. Why didn't we go sooner?? Well, I thought it was just for bigger kids. But we are hooked. Kids under 3 are free, so we have a few more months of unlimited jumpin.

Sledding Fun

Back in January we went sledding with Jim and Birgit on Mantua Lake, near Brigham City.

I didn't get a photo of this, but there were people fishing through the ice! We walked over to one of the fishermen to check it out. Super fun.
We like it!

Our Entertainment

This girl needs to m o v e . I try to get her out for walks, or to Jumpin' Jacks, but if I don't...well, she finds lots of ways to get her "exsersising". And when she puts on her twirling dress, there's no stopping her.

Remember...

When we would get off the bus, and I would get you out of your stroller after we crossed the street so you could run the rest of the way home? And half the time, you would stop to climb on this rock?

And how you liked to ride in our elevator? And how we would "buzz daddy in" and then you'd wait for the elevator to open so he would appear?

Before shopping at Aldi, we would ride the parking elevator to the top? And when we looked out the glass window, we would pretend we were flying? And when we got to the top, we would yell, "Rebecca!!" and it would echo? And then we'd do it again on our way out of the store?
Yah, that was fun :)
Just some pictures I found that got me reminiscing about how we spent our days in Munich.
I wonder how much she will remember, and how much she already forgot!

Jorg says, "aaaah!"
Rebecca pauses to think and says,

and then she cracks up.

Rebecca: "Mom! Don't go upstairs. That's where the Wild Hings are, and they'll get ya!"
This morning when Jorg was leaving for work,
Rebecca: "No daddy, stay home. Don't go to work today. There are Wild Hings there!"

This week we also went with Mimi to get Rebecca's first real hair cut! She was very serious about the whole thing and sat v e r y still.

Christmas 2009

I would like to add photos that I will soon steal/borrow from other people :) I don't remember to pull out the camera much at Christmas, and later I wish I would have! Just like each preceding Christmas. This one was THE BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!

And here is Rebecca's darling new house! Built & designed by Omi Birgit! Jim and Birgit were able to come down Christmas to spend the day and assemble the house. It's simply amazing!

Christmas Miracle

It came! It was on our doorstep Christmas Eve morning. And Rebecca got her "fuzzy penguin" for Christmas. Even though the bag was ripped, the contents were in tact.
