Photo Booth Fun

Some of Jorg's business associates use Macs. Jorg never has. But now he is doing some IT work at Trivani. So it was important that he bring home a MacBook so he could get familiarized with it. Horray!
Rebecca begs to do Photo Booth so now we have a new incentive for her to do...anything we want! I guessing her toys will be put away a little neater and her teeth will be cleaner and her bed will be made every morning...

Go Deutschland!

shirts from Birgit

Provo Marriot

Jorg had a conference with Trivani last weekend. Rebecca and I tagged along. We swam, ate out, went to see a movie, explored downtown, and read. I was able to make it through a whole novel while she napped.

beach bums Part 1

We were able to spend a wonderful week on vacation with the Aldrich side June12-19th! This is the place we vacationed with my dad's side of the family, every summer of my childhood. It's my happy place.
Rebecca and I flew in with Jon, Emily, and Natalie through Atlanta. Jorg arrived a few hours earlier through Minnesota, and the rest of 'em trickled in on different flights! Amazing how many ways there are to get to Jacksonville.
It was fun traveling there and back with those guys! Rebecca and Natalie had so much fun together on this trip.

Our first full day was Sunday. After church, we drove with steph and joel to the Crocodile Farm. We didn't know if it would be cool or not, but we did know of Rebecca's recent crocodile obsession, so we thought we'd give it a try. We went up to St. Augustine and it was a treat. We all had a great time.

(this post comes in different installments to save time on my picture uploading...)

beach bums Part 2

Here is some more of the fun we had with Jorg. He was able to stay until Wednesday morning. And he even got bumped so we got a romantic night away at the airport hotel, and then a voucher for $400. Go Jorg!
We had 2 beach days with him:

And went downtown. We had a special outing with my dad at the Marina too for Seafood!

then it was bye bye to daddy, who we sure missed on the rest of the trip.
Here are the darling cousins at play: (pictures from Em)

Some fun at the house.:
We had a big party for Laner's birthday!
Here was our outing for yuuuummy seafood.

More Beach Days!
My Aunt Kay's family was all there in the house next door. And my Uncle Albert's daughter and granddaughter were there too. Some of my dear Uncle Albert's ashes were spread into the sea there at Fernandina Beach.
Rebecca is a beach baby. She loved it all! She was a little cautious about the crashing waves at first. But by the end of the week I had to watch her really close, since she had no fear. She loved making dribble castles, catching fish with Steph, and making ice cream out of sand with Natalie.

beach bums Part 4

My groovy mommy & daddy. That's a great picture with my mom and the shrimp. She looks really cute and shrimp is her favorite food:
We went to see Toy Story 3. Rebecca enjoyed it and I did too. I want to see it again already. After the movie she took my cousin's son, Matthew's example and wore her glasses without the lenses. She was hilarious running around in those things. She got lots of attention in the restaurant.
By the last beach day our girl got really adventurous and here she is riding the waves with Aunt Steph.

A few more things to mention:
1. It was REALLY HOT there!
2. Rebecca and I sat on a row with 3 seats on the plane ride home. She sat in the middle of me and...Santa Claus! Seriously, this guy looked just like the old man and he told Rebecca he was. She was speechless. At least at first. He was a really sweet man. He told me lots of stories about people he visited around Christmas with his red suit on. And how much he especially enjoyed visiting the elderly. Rebecca slept most of the way, with her little feet resting on Santa's knee.
3. Thanks so much, mom and dad!

Welcome Home, Omi!

Rebecca was so happy to see her Omi and Grandpa at The Pie last week! We met halfway (SLC) for hugs, presents, the best pizza, and some great conversation. Birgit just got back from her trip to see her other kids (we sure miss them!) in Germany. She brought Rebecca this umbrella and it was perfect since it was a rainy day and we went for a walk around the block after we ate. She was thrilled and very pleased with herself to be carrying around her new parasol.

art city days

Joy, joy, jOY on the face of our little sweetheart! It was dollar night and she rode until her heart's content. What a fun evening for our family!

It's Summer!

How did we ever survive the winter?

Sugar & Spice and Everything Nice

plus bugs, pirates, dragons, monsters, and crocodiles.
I love this girl more than anything! I snapped this as she was waking up a few mornings ago. She insisted on sleeping in her Peter Pan outfit. And that's a rubber crocodile under her arm, which she carries everywhere.
She had our neighbors laughing when we were out for a walk one evening. Rebecca was pushing her little pink doll stroller and stopped to talk lovingly and reach down to the baby inside, only to pull out that rubber crocodile!
Also, one of her favorite things since the weather has warmed up is her little bug catcher where she has housed a potato bug
and a black beetle. With all of that, she also loves to play with her dolls and read princess books too.

Birthday Celebrations

Berit, Joel, Jim, Steph and I all had our birthdays this month!
Jorg took me to see Stars on Ice for my birthday and we both really enjoyed it!
We love dates! and birthdays!
