Joel's Got Talent

Rebecca and I visited my old high school to watch Uncle Joel perform in the Prom Assembly. I ran into some former third graders (the first class I taught is now GRADUATING from high school!) and my heart was full of pride, seeing the wonderful young adults they have become. I also felt just a little old!
We are so proud of Uncle Joel!
These two sound amazing!

2 Years of Sweetness!

These are some of my favorite pictures and they bring tears to my eyes. She is so darn cute!
And here she is today, on her official day of birth!
Omi and Grandpa came to spend the afternoon. We had a little party and lots of smiles and laughs with our girl.

Jorg was in Europe on business this week and arrived home today. We're so glad to have him back! But I have to say that I grew even closer to Rebecca this week...if that's possible. Every time I would start feeling lonely for Jorg, it seems like she could sense it. She gave me so many "huggies and tisses". We had a blast together, just the two of us. I couldn't love this little girl more, and I'm so thankful she's ours!

My Mommy

Is
pretty
generous
loving
knowledge-seeking
talented
faithful
giving
and
We love you, mom!

Happy Birthday!
We ate at Iggy's
and went to see Earth. It was Rebecca's first movie and she loved...

The B-I-G television!
She kept saying, "big, big!" We loved the movie and the amazing animals that kept our girl entertained. I took her on little walks and let her run up and down the halls a couple of times. She did really well.

Politeness of a Toddler

P.S. You'll notice it's when she's with daddy that she gets to eat the junk food. Mom was not present for the ice cream movie, nor this one with the chips (chips, which Jorg hides in his car!)...next up: french fries.

The Hunt

We had our traditional egg hunt at my parent's house, the day after Easter. There is a little cash for the big kids {cha-ching!} involved.
The picture top right picture (below) is Rebecca showing her "ouch"es to Kim (Lane's gf). The "ouch"es are very old news. She had some small cuts that healed weeks ago. But she gets that tragic look on her face and whips out the fingers (on the wrong hand most of the time). She'll show anyone who she thinks will give her sympathy.
She makes us laugh!

and finally,
Jorg's Cheeser!
(And we wonder where she gets it?)

Cutest Easter "Chickies"

Pictures taken by Emily at Aunt Kay and Margaret's Easter party.
The precious dresses were from my precious mom!

Caleb Talmage Viveros

My wonderful friend Kimmy had a beautiful baby boy on Easter.
Congratulations, Kim and Chris!
I can't wait to visit in June!

Princess Sightings

Saturday we visited Temple Square. I felt too cheesy taking pictures of the many brides on the temple grounds, but Rebecca was so excited about them! When we could see one in the distance, she would yell, "princess!" But when we got closer, she would cling to me and hide her head.
She was star-struck. It was too cute.

The flowers were spectacular!
It was a walk down memory lane visiting the temple where Jorg and I were married and remembering that special day.
And it was an especially great day to visit the Christus. Being Easter weekend, I was remeinded that Jesus lives and is my Savior. Rebecca knows His name and kept saying it. She noticed the "ouch"es on His hands. I'm so thankful for His sacrifice for me, for Jorg, for Rebecca, for our future children, and for all of us.

I (Emily) made this pie with my mommy!

Nap Time

Rebecca was supposed to be napping. I came in her room and found this:

And she was winding up the music box. Okay, so it really isn't possible for a human to be the mommy of a pig, two bears, and a horse. But she treats her animals the same way she treats her dolls. She gives them lots of "tisses" and "huggies".
We find this movie clip entertaining. I love it the most how her face gets so dramatic when she is telling me she wants to "PaLay!" She really did get out of her nap that day.

I have no doubt she can get herself out of the crib, but she never does! (thankfully)
Also, check out that crib! It was mine, all my siblings, and my dad's before that. They don't make 'em like they used to...

Rebecca and Natalie

At the exotic animal farm!
Emily and I got the girls together for a fun afternoon. We visited the many animals and then ate at the delicious,
Art City Trolley
They have the best salads. Anyway, check out the pictures of the girls in the car as we pulled in the driveway. They were both zonked! Rebecca actually fell asleep on my lap in that trolley car...which NEVER happens with her.

Mini Photo Shoot

Cheese!

Here she realized the camera was out:

Next time I will have to bribe her with "candies!"

Who can blame her, she wanted to "PaLay!"
I just love my girl and everything about her. Thanks for playing with us Emily and Natalie!

Ikea

I wish we lived closer because I think I would take her to Ikea before nap time every day! She thought the whole place was her giant playroom. I had to cringe letting her get into that bed though. You never know who else has been in there...eeks...

Draper Temple

Way back in December, my dad got the family tickets to the Draper Temple Open House. Well, Saturday was the day and we forgot until the day before. Jorg and I thought we would just stay home because 1) Rebecca isn't old enough to remember anyway, and 2) We had some maintenance work we needed to get done on our cars.
Saturday morning it hit me...how could we pass up this experience? to work on our cars? It just didn't feel right. I thought of the people who didn't have an opportunity to go who would have done anything to be there. I also remembered an old single's ward bishop, Bishop Whitaker, who told us,
"Don't leave blessings on the table."
I shared my thoughts with Jorg and he agreed. We Bachmann's would certainly never leave any food on the table. And we won't leave blessings there either!
Here we are at the chapel waiting to board the buses to the temple.
And here are more shots in the church, with some of our Aldrich fam.
Rebecca really did take in a lot. She kept saying, "wow!" And pointing out the pictures of Jesus.
Today I asked her to tell me about the temple. She said,
"Temple. Water. Sheep. Princess. Natalie. Mimi. Cookies."
All of which were discussed or encountered on our visit.
And that about sums it up! We're really glad we went. It was amazing and beautiful.

Princess

"Daddy, daddy....Princess!"
Her voice is a bit froggy because she has a cold
Our girl likes to dress up! Check out her headband...she gets into my hair scarves and headbands daily. She puts on all headbands this way (around the back of her head). She is wearing her princess shoes, bracelet, & ring and is carrying her "keys" - these plastic interlocked hearts that jangle together like keys. (Princess accessories from Mimi, keys & her "horsey shirt" from Omi)
Whenever she gets dressed in a new outfit or gets ready for church, I tell her, "Go show daddy!" This time she went on her own to show him. Precious. And he's so cute to her.

Lucky

Happy Anniversary to us!

I found my four leaf clover
and my pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
I am a lucky woman!
And I know it ;)

Rockband

We love to play with our friends, the Lefler's.
Rebecca and Abbigail really rock! And the miracle was they didn't hit each other with the sticks.

Pizza Night

We had some weird camera settings going on...but there was nothing weird about this pizza! It was soooo yummy.
Here is Rebecca with Aunt Steph! Again, blurry...but they look so comfy and cute!

Animal Neighbors

Since they closed one of the main roads in Springville for construction, we have to use the back roads. That's how we noticed this place. It's a property we could easily walk to from our house. These people have horses, donkeys, a turkey, sheep, goats, ducks, geese, emus, alpacas, pigs...any maybe more. You can drive right up to the fence and see most of the animals! Who wants to come for a play date?
Omi was with us, on a visit from Brigham City!
I wonder if the animal owners know how much joy they created for our little girl.
We Like It (them)!
For those of you in Springville, the address is 950 W. Center St.

Our Beauty

Her hair is getting so cute. I love how it curls on the ends! And since she is getting hair on the top, we are slowly saying goodbye to her mullet.
And look at her pearly whites! She has been our early little teether. And a terrible teether, at that! We could always tell when teeth were coming, because she was completely irrational for days or weeks and was up in the night. She now has all of her teeth except her 2 yr. molars. And we can tell they are coming! We have been seeing the symptoms for over a month now. The past few nights she has been up 3 or 4 times per night. Just crying and asking for "me-sun" (medicine). Poor one. Yesterday I took her to the doctor to make sure it's her teeth and not some stomach or ear issues. She's perfectly healthy! So we should see those little molars pop up soon!

Children's Book Exchange

"There are many little ways to enlarge your child's world. Love of books is the best of all."
-Jacqueline Kennedy
(picture taken on her first birthday)
My friend, Becky Z, got me involved in a children's book exchange! All you have to do is send out one book, send a form letter to 7 other people, and you should receive 35 books! Well, that's how it is supposed to work;) But I'll be happy if I get 5 or more. I'm excited about this! So, who's in??

You can email me with your address: eemsrose@gmail.com
or leave your address in the comments.
